Therapy FAQs

How often are the sessions? Sessions are generally weekly and last for 50-60 minutes each. Some clients prefer fortnightly sessions which can also be arranged. There is some flexibility around holidays, sickness and cancellations which are set out in the terms and conditions before agreeing to work with each other.

What is your fee and do you work with insurance? Sessions are £70. I currently do not work with any insurance companies however I will be soon. Please check this section again in the near future.

What ages do you work with? I work with people over the age of 18 and there is no upper limit. Therapy is accessible and effective for everybody.

What if you can't help me? Our introduction call will be a great opportunity to see if I'm the right fit for you. If I think that another type of support is in your best interest then we can discuss this and create a plan to see what else would be better for you. If we do begin therapy, a more detailed assessment will be completed to understand your difficulties and design a treatment plan on how we will work each other.

Do you offer face-to-face appointments and/or video? I currently work online only via Microsoft Teams / Zoom. Research shows therapy is just as effective by video as in-person and this allows you to do therapy from the comfort of your own home and is easier to fit within a busy life.

How many sessions do I need? It depends! There is guidance and recommendations of CBT sessions depending on the problem a person is facing. We will have a free introduction telephone or video call for up to 15 minutes to get to know each other and to see if I'm the right fit for you. Then the first main session will be an assessment session in which we can find out much more about your difficulties, what may be keeping them going and identify areas of change that will help you work towards your goals. Subsequent sessions will then be based on our agreed treatment plan. Typically, 12 sessions is usual but this can vary. However, together we will review progress regularly to ensure it's right for you.
