Hi, I'm James! I first discovered psychology when I was in my teens and I was fascinated from the start! The way memories are stored, how children go through stages of development, and learning about different types of therapy. I was hooked from day one! I chose to specialise into clinical psychology as helping other people is at the heart of everything I do.
Fast forward many years later and I've worked extensively with a variety of people experiencing mental health problems from all walks of life. I've worked in the NHS for over 10 years including a variety of clinical, supervisory, management and leadership roles. Alongside my clinical work I teach and supervise on university courses for both trainee and newly qualified students.
I am a big believer in therapy being done well and tailored to suit the individual. If you feel I'm the right fit for you then please let me know and I'd love to hear from you!

Living with a long term health condition?
Living with a long-term health condition can be exhausting—not just physically, but emotionally too. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) can help you navigate the worry, frustration, and uncertainty that often accompany ongoing health challenges.
In sessions, we’ll look at how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact with your symptoms, and together we’ll develop practical tools to help you cope more confidently day-to-day. CBT can support you in managing stress, improving mood, pacing yourself, dealing with flare-ups, and rebuilding a sense of control and balance in your life.
You don’t have to face your condition alone. With the right support, it’s possible to feel more grounded, more resilient, and better equipped to live the life you want, despite the challenges your health may bring.
